The "EBB" of our weekend

This week, when will it end? This week has been full of complete craziness to say the least. This past weekend was a very nice change of pace, considering we were able to spend a whole night alone away from the babies. We went on a wonderful date night out, had some delicious dinner at a mom and pop Italian restaurant, then met up with a few friends for some cocktails. OF course, with that night being part of the hectic week, our perfect night did not start off with out a hitch. All the kids had a sleep over at our dear friends (and Jordan's best friends) house. Thank you Rain!! As soon as we came back from dinner, and went up to change and relax before cocktails, we had a phone call from Rain to inform us that Jordan was throwing up. Chase and I looked at one another, and were just about ready to throw in the towel for one single night alone when Rain told us to stay. She said that he was fine, and it was most likely from all the jumping, running around, cake, and candy that was eaten. Of course, we told her that if he starts throwing up again, then to call and we would be right home.  That phone call never came.  Chase and I had one of the best nights ever talking over wine, and walking down the strip.  It was so nice, and in a way a little magical stress relief.  The next morning, on our way home after checking out, we stopped by k-mart to pick up a folding mattress for Rain (to replace the one Jordan threw up on).  All the kids had such a great night they ended up staying up 6 hours past their bed time! hahaha. We didn't care much, we were glad that they had a good time, but man were they WHINNY!  We had to go home and prepare for Jordan's 100tht day of school on Monday.

He had to bring in 100 pieces of something to share with each class all labeled from 1-100. Here, we had him bring in some marshmallow ice cream cones. Unfortunately, on Monday morning he was sick again. He was in tears when we told him that he would have to stay home for the day. He didn't want to miss his 100Th day of School. So for one of his pretend school homework projects that he does when he is sick, we had him draw and paint 100 smiley faces.

Thank goodness that he was able to go back to school on Tuesday, because he was just not having it at home with Mom and her smiley faces! haha. No, but he was feeling much better and could not wait to go to school first thing and see all his friends.  Jordan was feeling much better, and then it was my turn to be sick. Chase had to come home from work yesterday to help with the kids. Normally, when I am sick I can push through no problem, but my little germs made me take a turn for the worst. Every time I would pick up a child, or get up from a chair too fast, I was in the bathroom two seconds after. Can you guess what the babies decided to do while I was being occupied at the time? They found EVERYTHING to baking powder, noodles, sharpie markers, it was a disaster. I found that this was a day that I needed to cash in my "Hunny please come home and help me" card.

Have I mentioned how much I love my husband? I do!! With all my heart! We are happy to report, that besides a little linger of the sickness in the past couple of days, we are just about in the clear. My only prayer is that the babies and Chase do not pick it up. I would not wish that upon anyone!

Thank you for reading.

  1. Awww. Don't cry, William! I'm amazed at how much his "cry face" looks like Chase's did at that age.
